Soroptimist International(SI) President, Anne Garvie has given out a call for a solar project namely, SEE SOLAR,COOK SOLAR.. in tune with the UN Project of International Year of Light, 2015

Solar Energy Awareness initiative of SI Madurai.

In the year 2015 , SI Madurai proposes to take up an Awareness project for conservation of non renewable resources and integrating usage of solar power in our everyday life. As part of our Green Madurai Project we wish to create and maintain a traffic island in Madurai with a very ornamental and functional solar lamp post. This will be a beautiful landmark in Madurai city and also carry the message of energy conservation through usage of solar power.
